Hi, I’m Kalen
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable adults and adolescents who appear to be managing but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck. They may be navigating trauma, anxiety, shame, perfectionism, burnout, emotional dysregulation, or complex mood, personality, and relational concerns. I especially enjoy supporting those accustomed to carrying responsibility alone and seeking greater clarity and connection.
My style is warm, direct, curious, and engaged. Rooted in an intersectional, systems perspective, I integrate relational, psychodynamic, trauma-focused, narrative, DBT, CBT, existential, and strengths-based approaches. Sessions balance exploration with practical change as we examine beliefs and emotional or bodily responses, strengthen coping, and experiment with more supportive ways of responding.
Because none of us lives in isolation, therapy may also explore how family, work, culture, social systems, and marginalization affect well-being. I approach each person as the expert on their lived experience and remain attentive to how differences in identity, power, and social location may shape our work. Together, we can clarify what can be changed, what may be influenced, and what must be navigated, resisted, accepted, or grieved—strengthening agency without treating systemic harm as personal failure.
